Background

Zain Kuwait participated in the INJAZ Kuwait Internship Fair this week, which aims at introducing internship and career opportunities for students and young graduates.

The program sought to provide opportunities for young people to gain an insight into various career paths through meeting students, industry employers, and leaders. Participation in the fair enabled Zain to showcase opportunities available in the telecommunications and IT industries and interact with future professionals.

The program is among the initiatives undertaken by Zain as part of its investment in youth development and aligns with the plans of the country to develop a skilled workforce that can drive its digital economy. Internship programs have been recognized as a vital tool for workforce development through offering students real-life work experience before entering the labor market.

With the expansion of telecom companies from merely providing connections to other domains such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, many such companies have focused increasingly on developing their talent base. Some of the telecom companies have collaborated with educational institutes as well as organizations for youths in providing them internships and graduate programmes.

There are certain organizations such as INJAZ Kuwait that have served as an interface between education and industry in making it possible for business enterprises to collaborate with educational institutes. As per the officials, this kind of collaboration allows the students to explore new industries, whereas for the employers it helps create sustainable pipelines of talent as the world is going through rapid digital transformation.

The participation of Zain Kuwait in the fair indicates the expanding influence of telecom companies in developing the workforce.
