Background-

Egypt is ready to supply Kazakhstan with competitively priced products, including farm produce, processed food, chemicals, fertilizers and ready-made garments, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said.

Madbouly met Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi in the New Capital to discuss closer economic, investment, educational and cultural ties. He pointed to Egypt’s strategic location and its network of trade agreements with Arab, African and European markets.

Madbouly welcomed the growth in bilateral trade, which reached $300 million by the end of 2025, and said both countries can do more. He invited Kazakh firms to invest in agriculture, mining, chemicals, textiles, food processing, construction, renewable energy and pharmaceuticals. He also proposed a Kazakh logistics centre in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

Tleuberdi said Kazakhstan wants wider cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence and energy.

Madbouly called the visit a chance to revive high-level contact, as it is the first by a Kazakh foreign minister to Cairo since 1998. He said Egypt would like to host President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He also urged both sides to hold the sixth session of the joint committee in Astana soon, alongside a business council meeting.

On culture and education, Madbouly thanked Kazakhstan for helping restore Cairo’s Sultan Al-Zahir Baybars Mosque and encouraged Kazakh students to apply for Egyptian scholarships. He backed more direct flights between Cairo and Astana.
