Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of MODON, Bandar Alkhorayef, has launched major industrial and infrastructure projects worth SR3 billion ($810 million) at Sudair City for Industry and Businesses. The projects cover road networks, water and sewage systems, electricity, and the construction of ready-built factories.
During his visit, Alkhorayef inaugurated infrastructure upgrades valued at SR1.8 billion. The projects include a 12,500-cubic-meter water reservoir, expanded road networks, and the fourth phase of infrastructure covering six million square meters.
The minister also checked ongoing work on a 200-megavolt-ampere electrical substation and 44 ready-built factories. These projects are meant to attract industrial investment and provide better services for entrepreneurs in Sudair City.
In addition, Alkhorayef witnessed the signing of six industrial and investment contracts, along with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with public and private sector partners. The agreements represent total investments exceeding SR1 billion and focus on creating an attractive environment for local and international investors.
Human capital development was also highlighted during the visit. MODON signed an SR16 million contract with the Majmaah Chamber of Commerce to establish a state-of-the-art training center. The facility will develop specialized skills for the national workforce and includes an incubator for children of industrial city employees.
The minister further oversaw an MoU with AJEX to provide shared logistics and transport services at Sudair City. The initiative is designed to improve logistics for investors, which is important for long-term industrial growth.
These projects support Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Strategy, which aims to strengthen supply chains, boost high-value industries, and increase the industrial sector’s contribution to the economy.
Alkhorayef said the projects demonstrate the kingdom’s commitment to industrial development, supporting entrepreneurs, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the quality of life in industrial cities.
