Background

Space42 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with e& UAE to create Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology. Aiming to make autonomous vehicles safer and smarter across the country.

Space42 will use its autonomous vehicle systems and Sovereign Mobility Cloud. e& UAE will provide 5.5G networks, edge computing, and secure communication. Together, they will build a connected mobility network and get the UAE ready for future 6G technology.

Both companies will work on pilot projects, develop regulatory rules, and design business models for large-scale deployment of autonomous and connected vehicles. These tests will include robotaxis, shuttles, and logistics fleets operating in Abu Dhabi and other smart city zones.

V2X technology allows vehicles to communicate with other cars, traffic lights, roads, and pedestrians. This helps improve road safety, control traffic better, and share data between vehicles instantly. Over-the-air updates will let vehicles improve maps and navigation.

Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42, said the partnership combines innovation on the ground and in the cloud, making vehicles safer and smarter. Masood M Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& UAE, added that the collaboration will help authorities run safe, certified pilots while paving the way from 5.5G to 6G technology.

Since 2021, Space42’s TXAI robotaxis have driven more than 600,000 km and completed 20,000 trips, showing that autonomous mobility can work in real life. This partnership helps the UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031, improving smart, efficient, and connected transport systems in cities across the country.
