Background

Ajman’s Transport Authority and e& made a deal, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to team up more closely. The idea is to allow broader cooperation and fresh, inventive pathways tied to digital technologies and artificial intelligence, especially across transport operations plus business services.

The MoU was signed during the third edition of the Annual Government Cybersecurity Summit 2026. It was attended by Ahmed Saqr Al Matrooshi, the Acting Director-General of Ajman Transport Authority, and Saood Karmostaje, the Acting CEO of the Government and VIP segment at e&.

Several aspects have been highlighted in the MoU. Among others, agentic AI shall be used to automate the back-end processes of HR, finance, payroll, and employee queries management. The parties agreed to build smart systems for bus route planning and schedule creation using operational and passenger data. Lastly, the application of computer vision and behavioral analysis tools for passenger monitoring, crowd management, and increased compliance with safety standards was agreed upon.

Al Matrooshi said the agreement marks a strategic step toward accelerating advanced technology adoption in the transport sector, with a focus on smart planning, data analytics and user experience. Karmostaje said the partnership aims to create practical value by combining e&’s capabilities in AI, connectivity and digital services with the authority’s vision for smarter mobility.

The MoU also includes plans to develop specialised AI training programmes to upskill employees and prepare them for the demands of digital transformation.
