Background

United Arab Bank pulled in a net profit of AED201 million for the six months ending 30th June 2026, on the back of a 13 percent year-on-year rise in total operating income.

The bank pointed to disciplined execution of its strategy, strong asset growth and prudent risk management as the drivers, even as global markets stayed volatile and regional geopolitical uncertainty persisted.

Total assets climbed to AED28 billion, up 16 percent year-on-year. Loans, advances and Islamic financing grew 14 percent to AED15.3 billion, and investments jumped 25 percent to AED8.3 billion. Customer deposits gained 16 percent year-on-year, reaching AED18.2 billion.

NPL ratio held at 2.7 percent, with provision coverage at 101 percent. Capital and liquidity stayed firm too, with the advances-to-stable-resources ratio at 73 percent and eligible liquid asset ratio at 17 percent. Capital adequacy came in at 21.1 percent, and CET1 at 17.2 percent, both comfortably above regulatory requirements.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Board, called the first half of 2026 an important milestone for the bank, building on foundations laid in 2024 to strengthen capital, governance and digital transformation.

He said the results show strong operating momentum and resilience despite market volatility and geopolitical uncertainty, and noted that investment-grade ratings from Moody’s and Fitch back up the progress made so far.

Chief Executive Officer Shirish Bhide said the growth across operating income, lending, deposits and the investment portfolio points to effective execution across corporate, commercial and personal banking. He said the bank plans to keep expanding digital capabilities and deepen partnerships to support businesses and families across the UAE.
